Four Colleagues Elected to 2016 AMS Fellowship
Distinguished Earth and Environmental System Modeling colleagues David Bader, Rong Fu, Bette Otto-Bliesner, and Minghua Zhang are among the newly appointed American Meteorological Society (AMS) 2016 Fellows. These members were honored during the 2016 AMS Annual Meeting in New Orleans, January 10 to 14.
Bader, lead principal investigator for the Accelerated Climate Modeling for Energy project; Fu and Zhang, principal investigators for the Regional & Global Climate Modeling program; and Otto-Bliesner, involved in the development and simulations of Earth and Environmental System Modeling, joined the class of scientists honored by AMS for "outstanding contributions to the atmospheric or related oceanic or hydrologic sciences or their applications during a substantial period of years."
Each year, individual AMS members are honored for exceptional scientific contributions and acknowledged eminence in the fields of atmospheric, or related oceanic, or hydrologic sciences. No more than 0.1 percent of the organization's 13,000-member of the total worldwide membership are recognized annually.
