01) InteRFACE Overview
The Interdisciplinary Research for Arctic Coastal Environments (InteRFACE) project is a multi-institution, multi-disciplinary project funded by DOE’s Biological & Environmental Research Earth & Environmental Systems Sciences Division (EESSD). Collaborative support from the Regional and Global Model Analysis, Earth System Model Development, MultiSector Dynamics, and Data Programs at EESSD allows InteRFACE to integrate research on ocean dynamics, sea ice, coastal watershed hydrology, and coastal erosion and flooding with economic modeling and analysis of how changing environmental and economics will alter natural resource extraction, availability and use and the connectivity of the Arctic to the rest of the globe via shipping. This project meeting highlights a subset of this research and presents active research efforts. Our collection of poster seeks to facilitate deeper collaboration across our project and inspire new collaborations with the larger arctic and coastal research communities.
