Abstract: The IPCC has recently started its 7th Assessment Cycle (AR7). This presentation will provide an overview of planned IPCC reports and activities, as well as information on how to engage with the IPCC in AR7.

Presenter: Dr. Katherine Calvin was appointed as NASA’s Chief Scientist and Senior Climate Advisor on Jan. 10, 2022. Since 2008, Dr. Calvin has been an Earth scientist at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory’s Joint Global Change Research Institute (JGCRI) in College Park, Maryland and on the Department of Energy’s Energy Exascale Earth System Model. In July 2023, she was selected as Co-Chair of Working Group III of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) for the 7th assessment cycle. Dr. Calvin has also contributed to previous IPCC reports, including two special reports, the Working Group III report, and the synthesis report. Dr. Calvin received her doctorate in Management, Science, and Engineering from Stanford University and a bachelor of science in Computer Science and Mathematics from the University of Maryland.
