New ASR Funding Opportunity Announcement for Fiscal Year 2019
The U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Atmospheric System Research (ASR) program is now accepting research grant applications for observational, data analysis, and/or modeling studies that use observations supported by the Climate and Environmental Sciences Division (CESD), including the Atmospheric Radiation Measurement (ARM) scientific user facility and the ASR program to improve understanding and model representation of aerosol processes at ARM sites; warm boundary-layer atmospheric processes; convective cloud processes; and Southern Ocean cloud and aerosol processes.
Details for DE-FOA-0002034 – Atmospheric System Research (ASR) are available in the funding opportunity announcement (FOA) DE-FOA-0002034 PDF.
Pre-applications are required and must be submitted through the DOE Office of Science Portfolio Analysis and Management System (PAMS) by 5 p.m. Eastern time on Monday, January 28, 2019.
Pre-applications may not exceed two pages and should provide a clear and concise description of the objectives and technical approach of the proposed research, as well as how the proposed research is responsive to the FOA. More details on the required pre-application information are given in the funding announcement. Applicants for multi-institutional projects should submit a single pre-application by the lead institution identifying all project participants. It is the responsibility of the applicant to include sufficient information in the pre-application to enable evaluation of responsiveness to the terms of the announcement.
Submitters of pre-applications will receive an encourage or discourage decision by February 11, 2019. Submitters of encouraged pre-applications will have until March 14, 2019 to submit a complete application through Grants.gov.
