Joint Funding Opportunity Announced for ESM and RGCM
The U.S. Department of Energy's Office of Science is now accepting applications for an Office of Biological and Environmental Research (BER) Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) for university-led projects under the Earth System Modeling (ESM) and Regional and Global Climate Modeling (RGCM) programs.
Three general award areas will be considered: SciDAC computationally advanced climate model development (with support from ESM), climate variability and change (with support from RGCM) and long-term climate simulations (with support from both programs). The FOA encourages collaboration of universities with DOE-laboratory scientists. See ESM laboratory projects and RGCM laboratory projects for lists of laboratory-led projects.
A summary of the announcement is available on the DOE Office of Science website.
Pre-applications are due January 9, 2014. Proposals must be submitted by March 3, 2014, 5:00 pm EST, Reference Number: DE-FOA-0001036.
